St. Joseph of Glastonbury

Anglican Catholic Province in the Apostolic Succession

Our Mission

"Perseverantia et Fide in Deo"

Perseverance and Faith in God.

We, the Bishops of the Anglican Catholic Province in the Apostolic Succession, declare this Church to be, and desire that it shall continue, in full Communion with all Anglicans throughout the world who remain faithful to Apostolic Order (including the male Episcopate, Priesthood, and Diaconate), as an integral portion of the one Body of Christ composed of Churches which, united under the One Divine Head and in fellowship of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, hold the one Faith revealed in Holy Writ, and defined in the Creeds as maintained by the undivided Primitive Catholic Church in the Seven Ecumenical Councils1; receive the same Canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, as containing all things necessary to salvation; teach the same Word of God; partake of the same Divinely ordained Sacraments through the Ministry of the same Divinely instituted Apostolic Orders; and worship one God and Father through the same Lord Jesus Christ, by the same Holy and Divine Spirit Who is given to them that believe to guide them into all truth.

Our Core Values

We hold to the doctrines of the first Seven Ecumenical Councils. We believe the Holy Scriptures to be the revealed word of God. We believe in the Apostle's and Nicene Creeds. We believe in the Seven Sacraments. We believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. We believe in the sanctity of human life. We believe marriage as being defined as between one man and one woman. We accept the ordained ministry of male Bishops, Priests, Deacons in Apostolic Succession.

WE BELIEVE THE HOLY SCRIPTURES to be the revealed Word of God, containing all things necessary to salvation, and that salvation is found only through Jesus Christ.

WE BELIEVE THE APOSTLES AND NICENE CREEDS to be sufficient statements of personal and standard of Faith and they mean exactly what they say.

WE BELIEVE THE CHRISTIAN MORALITY of the New Testament is the sole guide for the Church.

WE BELIEVE THE SACRED TRADITION of what the Lord Taught, the Apostles Preached, Fathers of the Church Preserved.

WE BELIEVE THE SEVEN SACRAMENTS, outward signs of inward and spiritual grace.

WE BELIEVE IN THE REAL PRESENCE OF CHRIST in the Holy Eucharist and deem it as a mystery.

WE RECOGNIZE & SUPPORT the sanctity of human life, beginning at conception.

WE BELIEVE THAT MARRIAGE defined as the lifelong union of one man and one woman - is God's loving provision for procreation and family life, and that sex outside such marriage is against God's law.

WE ACCEPT THE ORDAINED MINISTRY OF MALE Bishops, Priests, and Deacons in Apostolic Succession (as in Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches), and as in Eastern churches, married men may be ordained.

WE WORSHIP using the traditional 1928 Book of Common Prayer, the Anglican Missal, the American Missal and the 1940 Hymnal. We approve the use of the King James (Authorized) translation of the Bible as well as the Revised Standard Version and the Jerusalem Bible.

We do not compromise on matters of Faith and Order, Doctrine, Discipline or Morality.

Prayer For the Unity of God’s People
O GOD, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only Saviour, the Prince of Peace; Give us grace seriously to lay to heart the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions. Take away all hatred and prejudice, and whatsoever else may hinder us from godly, union and concord: that as there is but one Body and one Spirit, and one hope of our calling, one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of us all, so we may be all of one heart and of one soul, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and charity, and may with one mind and one mouth glorify thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
